About Us

Our Story

Mike and Lorie Lentz have always believed that every child deserves a safe, encouraging, and FUN place to grow. A place where children, parents, teachers, and therapists could work together to achieve extraordinary goals. Determined to meet the needs of every child, Mike and Lorie opened PlayWorks in January 2005.

PlayWorks has grown from one initial occupational therapy client with “Mr. Mike” – to include our professionally staffed preschool and free-standing therapy clinics in Morgantown and Fairmont, West Virginia.  PlayWorks Therapies offer occupational, physical, and speech therapies to individuals of all ages and abilities.

In our community, PlayWorks is proud to serve as the West Virginia Chair for Variety the Children’s Charity’s “My Bike, My Stroller, and My Voice” Programs. These Variety programs distribute adaptive bikes, adaptive strollers, and communication devices to special needs children completely free of charge. Since partnering with Variety in 2014, PlayWorks has helped facilitate delivery of over 300 bikes, strollers, and communication devices to grateful children and families in West Virginia.

Trusting PlayWorks to be a small part of your child or loved-one’s life is an awesome responsibility that we value above all. Mike and Lorie guarantee that your child, loved-one, and family will always be treated with honesty, kindness, and respect by everyone at PlayWorks. Although our facilities and PlayWorks’ family have grown exponentially over the years, the simple belief that “Every child deserves a safe, encouraging, and most importantly FUN place to grow” will always remain our guiding principle.

Have Fun
Mike and Lorie

My son goes to PlayWorks for physical, occupational, and speech therapies. We cannot say enough great things about them! He is making great progress, his therapists are amazing, and Mr. Mike is so nice! I couldn’t imagine our little guy going anywhere else!

We had an amazing experience with Holly at Playworks. She gave us the tools we needed to help our newborn with her head and neck problems. Our baby girl officially “graduated” tonight and we are so pleased. Thanks to Holly for being so caring and patient and making all of this so much easier for our family. Highly recommend.
